All my life I’ve lived in a very old firehouse in Oceanport, New Jersey. At some point in the mid to late 80s the decision was made to turn the garage into a Studio. It was a legendary spot known infamously around town as “firehouse” a place where you could play as loud as you wanted from dusk till dawn, and if the engineer was sober enough MAYBE something got recorded. This persisted for years, until like most things truly awesome it dissolved. From the mid 90s to the early 2000s it became mostly a place to store aging and oxidized gear, occasionally a jam was held but it was just a shell of its former glory. Fast forward to 2014, fresh out of collage with a degree in acting Matt Dubrow decided the next step in his life was to build the studio again, but this time with a greater emphasis on being able to record. 5 years, computer, a few cables, some speakers and a giant 56 channel analogue recording console later, Firehouse was alive! Recently the decision was made to renovate the studio again, and to cosmetically give it a profile that fits the legendary rock and roll vibe.

As I type this I’m sitting in what can best be described as a multi purpose studio room, my gear is scattered all around, and I have literally a mountain of cable behind me. I’m hoping to have the studio back in action in the next 3-4 weeks. But i’ll keep the status updated here as It gets interesting.
